New Desktop Set

I finally got the keyboard and mouse I ordered a few weeks back. And I have to tell you: it’s amazing.

I decided to go with the Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000. It’s a Bluetooth powered wireless keyboard and mouse. I’ve only had the box open for about twenty minutes and I’m more in love with these two items than any PC peripheral I’ve owned to date.

I’m so please, in fact, with this purchase that I would advise anyone out there looking for a new keyboard and mouse to pick up a set. For me here are some of the best reasons to pick these up:

  1. Very nice and small thumbstick-sized USB receiver.
  2. The keyboard has a little trackpad and mouse buttons so you can work (to some degree) with just it.
  3. Lots of great media buttons on the keyboard (I guess this is really standard nowadays, but it’s still nice to have).
  4. The mouse works on my couch. As in, no mouse pad required. I don’t know what Microsoft puts into their lasers, but hats off. It glitches once in a while, but by and large I can just move the mouse around on a couch cushion and it will work as it should.

Quite simply this is a fine piece of tech. I just upgraded from the older Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 v2.0 and I couldn’t be happier. The mouse is a little nicer, the receiver is much nicer, and the keyboard is more comfortable and uses nice thin keys instead of those big clunky ones.

So if you’re in the market for a new mouse and keyboard, pick it up. You won’t be disappointed. And if you are disappointed, well I guess you can’t please everyone with every product. :)
